As Spock grows up, he, by nature, wants to be on somewhere higher and higher. First sofa, then dinning chair, then my bed, then dinning table, and eventually my kitchen counter (yesterday!). I allow him to be everywhere he wants except on dinning table and kitchen counter. When I am home, every single time he is on the dinning table, i will say "no," take him down, and look into his eyes and say "no" again. If he went too wild, i spray him or put him in a room by himself for a while. It's been almost 2 months, he doesn't seem to give it up yet. When i am home, he is cautious, observing me if I was paying attention to him. If he saw me looking at him, he wouldn't make any move. But if he noticed that I was doing something else, he will just jump on the table. When I am not home...I bet he dances on the dinning table all day long. I also tried of taping the edge of the table. He didn't like it, so he stopped for 3 days, and then he realized that he could jump a little bit harder towards the center of the table. That way he could avoid the taped edge and landed somewhere that had no tape. So i gave up on tapes and went back to the old tactics. Yesterday, he jumped on the kitchen counter! That was the last straw that broke my nerves. I got to do something. I don't want him to get hurt because the stove is right next to the counter, and besides, I need some open space to put my cooked food T_T ... someone suggested me to get a tall cat scratch post for him, so he can climb and sits there higher than everyone else in the family... like a king.

happy holidays LL :D
These gradation is so common to all of them. The highest point of our cat was the cupboard at the kitchen! Though, it causes such problems with the furs all around!
